About this session :)
IASH Kopi Chats aims to create safe spaces to promote conversations on mental health and wellness, and promote support amongst members of the community. The series is facilitated by IASH volunteers. In this edition of Kopi Chats, we discuss the topic of coping with upcoming CNY dread. EVENT DETAILS: Kopi Chats x Mental Health Week @ Social Space Date: 3rd February 2024 (Saturday) Timing: 1-4pm 1. What does the upcoming CNY season mean to you? - what are some expectations on what one should 'feel'/experience during this season? - where do these expectations come from and how are they propagated? (E.g family dynamics, expectations, social media/media/shows) 2. What are some struggles you faced during this season in the past? - how do these struggles contrast with the overall festive period/mood? - what was the people/environment/instances / trauma that contributed to such feelings? - what are some struggles seeking support from fellow peers/friends in such seasons? - how has your own family and upbringing contributed to your feelings about the upcoming gathering? 3. Sharing of words of encouragement and support - suggestions on how to cope with upcoming CNY in 2024 - what are some boundaries one has to establish? - what are some safe spaces/healthy activities we can create for ourselves? - healthy mindsets/perspectives we can remind ourselves of?
