Support Group Facilitators
At IASH, we run Peer Support groups on a weekly basis called "Empathy Circles". These are all volunteer-led groups where lived experience is seen as a strength!

Join us if:
-
You're someone with lived mental health experience and lend your empathy and understanding to others
-
You're interested in facilitating groups and have experience in mental health spaces
-
You'd just like to help out and listen to the stories of others
​
These sessions are planned to be in-person, either at our space near Bishan Park or anywhere in Singapore!
Community Events Facilitators
At IASH, we are also looking for people keen to help us fun community events on a monthly basis. Some of these include:
​
- Hikes and walks in nature
- Boardgame days!!!
- Arts and crafts like crochet, watercolours, painting, doodling, bracelet making etc!
- Karaoke too!
​
If you have an idea or particular experience / skillset that you think you can introduce and help lead a group beyond the above, just let us know below too:)​
Join our Social Media Team.
We are looking for writers, graphic designers and / ig reel makers or story tellers who are interested in joining us to push the mental health frontier in Singapore!
We could really use some help brainstorming ideas and designed posts for our social media account @iash.sg.

Otherwise, we are in the midst of creating new mental health reels to be shared on Instagram too. We do have a small team of volunteers that you'll be joining in this endeavour together :)
Our HEAR BUD Program
OUR HEAR BUD PROGRAM IS ONLY OPEN TO VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE BEEN PART OF OUR COMMUNITY / EVENTS OR HAVE BEEN EXISTING VOLUNTEEERS.

Because this is a delicate space, we'd need to make sure we have committed and passionate individuals onboard.
Interested in sharing your time to tune into the struggles of others? ​
​
All our HEAR BUDs go through a screening interview. Following that, we'll take you through a 4.5 hour in-person course (depending on your pre-existing knowledge) to bring you up to speed on the concept of Professional Listening.
​
There, you will learn:
-
Humanistic Psychology Principles (Carl Rogers).
-
Active Listening Skills.
-
What to do in tricky scenarios and ethical practice
-
Techniques from Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
-
Self-care techniques and practice on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Criteria:
-
You must be 18 years old and above
-
You have a natural knack for listening
-
You're willing to be open about sharing your struggles with others

We do prioritise taking on intern counsellors who are passionate about mental health and are willing to help out with our events and mental health community. We also use this program to help evaluate entry into one of Resident Counsellors spots too :)
