Hi there! I’m Shannon – a psychology student on the journey to (hopefully!) becoming a counselling psychologist one day.

Growing up, my life was a bit of a rollercoaster, facing abuse, bullying and various mental health challenges along the way. For a long time, I felt like I had to face everything alone. I was told things like “others have it worse,” and that made me believe I had no right to speak up or seek support. I kept everything to myself, afraid to burden others – and eventually, it left me feeling burnt out, isolated, and emotionally exhausted.

But I’m so grateful for the friends who lovingly reminded me that I didn’t have to carry everything on my own. Their patience, kindness, and willingness to simply be there helped me understand that vulnerability is not a weakness but rather a strength. Being able to acknowledge when things are tough and seek support is an indication of courage and resilience, and deserves to be commended.
As a hearbud, I hope to be a deserving confidant who can create a comforting and safe space for you. You deserve to be heard, supported, and reminded that your feelings are valid – no matter the circumstances. Whether you're navigating something big or just feeling a little off, I’m here to walk alongside you.
