Hi, I am Adeline, an IASH.sg counsellor in training :)

I see counselling as a place where you do not have to have everything figured out before you arrive. We can start with where you are.
I came to counselling after more than 20 years in senior corporate leadership roles across Asia. For much of my career, I worked in demanding, high-pressure environments where being capable, resilient and getting things done were simply expected. I understand what it is like to carry significant responsibilities while trying to manage the other parts of life that do not stop just because work is demanding.

Life outside work has shaped me just as much. I was the primary caregiver to both my parents through serious illness and accompanied them through their palliative journeys. Being a caregiver, I came to understand how complicated caregiving and grief can be. Love can sit alongside exhaustion, frustration, guilt and sadness, sometimes all at once.

These experiences are part of what I bring into the counselling room. I am particularly drawn to working with people who have spent a long time coping, functioning or looking after everyone else, but somewhere along the way have lost sight of themselves. I also work with those facing difficult relationships, workplace challenges, anxiety or depression, grief, burnout and periods of change when what has always worked for them no longer seems to work.
I primarily draw from Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), while integrating other approaches where helpful. I do not believe there is one way of counselling that works for everyone. I take time to understand what is happening in your life and what matters to you. From there, we can explore what may be keeping you stuck and what you would like to change.
