When you have everything you're "supposed" to, and still feel lost
Sometimes the hardest question isn't what's wrong — it's what it's all for.
If you've been feeling adrift, unfulfilled, or unsure what you're working toward, IASH offers a thoughtful space to explore those questions and reconnect with what matters.
(In person at our Bishan centre, or online)
You may find yourself wondering: is this all there is?
Maybe you finally reached a goal you'd been working towards, only to realise it didn't feel as satisfying as you expected. Or maybe nothing big happened at all—you just started feeling disconnected from the things that used to matter to you.
Sometimes it's hard to explain. You might even feel bad for feeling this way, especially when you know other people are dealing with bigger problems. But that doesn't make your feelings any less real.
Questioning your purpose or meaning in life is not a flaw or a phase to be embarrassed about. It can be uncomfortable, but it can also be a sign that you're starting to reflect on what really matters to you and what you want moving forward.
Struggling to find purpose looks different for everyone
You may be experiencing some of these, if not all:
-
Constantly asking yourself questions like "What's the point?" or "Why am I doing this?"
-
Achievements that feel hollow soon after you reach them
-
Losing interest or motivation even when things are going well on the surface
-
Questioning choices you once felt sure about — career, path, identity
-
Going through the motions; being disconnected from what you're doing
-
Comparing your life to others and wondering if you're missing something
If you're questioning your purpose, you're not alone. The search for meaning isn't a sign that something is wrong — it's a sign that you're paying attention to what matters.
