For minds that work a little differently
If the world often feels built for a brain unlike yours — too loud, too rigid, too much — you're not failing at it.
At IASH, we offer affirming counselling support for neurodivergent people, including ADHD and autism, that works with how your mind actually is.
(In person at our Bishan centre, or online)
Maybe you've spent a long time working twice as hard to keep up with things that seem to come easily to everyone else — staying organised, sitting still, reading the social rules, managing the noise and the input. Maybe you've become an expert at masking: performing "fine," then crashing in private once the effort runs out.
Somewhere along the way, you might have absorbed the idea that you're lazy, too sensitive, too intense, or just not trying hard enough. The truth is usually simpler: your mind runs on a different operating system, and you've been navigating a world that mostly wasn't designed for it.
Being neurodivergent isn't something to be fixed or cured. But the exhaustion, the overwhelm, and the years of being misunderstood are real — and those are things counselling can genuinely help with.
Struggling with neurodivergence looks different for everyone
You may be experiencing some of these, if not all:
-
Overwhelm, sensory overload, or shutting down when there's too much input
-
Burnout from masking — performing "normal" until you're drained and exhausted
-
Struggles with focus, routines, time, or starting and finishing things
-
Rejection sensitivity, or feelings that hit harder than others seem to expect
-
Relationships, communication, and feeling misunderstood
-
The pressure, shame, and self-doubt of "not keeping up"
Nothing about this means you’re not trying hard enough. You’ve just been carrying more than it looks like, without enough support — and that can change.
