Hi, I'm Nuriah

Hello! I'm Nuriah, a Counsellor in Training at IASH.SG.

My journey into this work stems from a deep curiosity about people’s inner worlds—the quiet struggles, the turning points, and the moments of becoming that often unfold in silence before they are ever spoken aloud. This curiosity first took shape in 2022, when I began working as a Social Worker in a children’s home. There, I learnt what it means to sit with young people in moments that feel fragile and unsteady, where words are often few but presence matters deeply. That experience continues to shape how I listen.

I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy with the University of Roehampton, London. Alongside my training, I work as a Case Manager in an antenatal programme supporting vulnerable mothers, where I witness daily how vulnerability and strength can coexist through profound periods of change. I'm drawn to working with adolescents and young adults, those standing at the edge of change, where identity, direction, and meaning are still taking shape. I hope to offer a space where these experiences can be explored with care and curiosity

What I Can Support You With

  • Exploring identity, belonging, and sense of self

  • Emotions that feel layered, intense, or hard to put into words

  • Navigating relationships with family, friends, or significant others

  • Moving through life transitions in education, work, or personal direction

  • Living with stress, anxiety, low mood, or self-doubt

I hold a particular sensitivity to what often goes unspoken, the quiet inner experiences that may not yet have words but still carry meaning.

My Approach

My approach is integrative, shaped by the conviction that every person arrives with their own story and that therapy should be flexible enough to honour it. I draw from person-centred therapy, CBT, REBT, Choice Theory, and Gestalt therapy, blending what is most meaningful and useful for you at each step of the way.

More than any technique, what I offer is a grounded, non-judgemental space where you can show up as you are – uncertain, overwhelmed, or simply searching – and be met with genuine care. Because I believe that within every struggle, there is something worth exploring. And in our work together, we do exactly that.
