Hi, I'm Selvanisha.

About Me
I am a counselling practicum student who is passionate about creating a safe, warm, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and understood. I believe that every person’s story matters and deserves to be met with respect and empathy. Outside of counselling, I enjoy reading, spending time with animals, and dabbling in art as a way to de-stress and express myself creatively. These interests have shaped my appreciation for patience, reflection, and quiet connection — values that guide the way I show up in the counselling room.
My Approach: Person-Centered Therapy
My work is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy. This means I believe you are the expert of your own life. Rather than directing or telling you what to do, I aim to walk alongside you, offering empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. I focus on building a trusting relationship where you feel safe enough to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace.
Why Speak With Me?
You may consider speaking with me if you are looking for someone who will truly listen without judgement, pressure, or assumptions. I strive to create a space where you can be yourself — whether you are navigating stress, life transitions, emotional challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed. Together, we can explore what matters most to you and work toward greater clarity, self-understanding, and personal growth.
